Can mosquitoes or other biting insects transmit the coronavirus?
According to the World Health Organization, the COVID-19 virus cannot be spread through mosquito bites. And to date there has been no information nor evidence to suggest that COVID-19 could be transmitted by mosquitoes. The coronavirus is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose. Get vaccinated to protect yourself, but also clean your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
If you choose not to be vaccinated, wear a mask in public and keep socially distant from others who are not in your immediate household. Also, avoid close contact with anyone who is coughing and sneezing.
